How to allocate funds to Emergence BTC strategy

Emergence Bitcoin strategy is wrapped into ERC-20 standard tokens (ticker: BTCEM, contract address: 0xc3F03342514EB8362C9b6314A6974cFE698d8c98), which means they are traded in the same manner as other Ethereum based tokens – only liquidity is the determining factor. During the first phase of Emergence DAO, there will be only one option to buy Emergence Bitcoin strategy tokens (equal to allocated funds towards the Emergence Bitcoin strategy) via TokenSets.

To allocate funds to Emergence Bitcoin strategy via TokenSets you need to visit the strategy page by this link – Invest in Emergence Bitcoin strategy.

Once you're on the Emergence Bitcoin strategy page you then have access to the buy & sell buttons pictured below to show the overlay. The following user journey is for buying the Emergence Bitcoin strategy, but the exact same UI is used for facilitating selling the Emergence Bitcoin strategy via the Sell button.

1.Click the Buy button which will then ask you to connect your crypto wallet – please choose one depending on which you are using.

If you sign into TokenSets for the first time, you might be automatically redirected to the TokenSets onboarding page after a wallet connection. In this case, quickly complete the onboarding process and then please revisit the Emergence Bitcoin strategy page via the link – Invest in Emergence Bitcoin strategy and click the Buy button one more time. If there are some problems – please clear the cache and cookies in your browser and revisit the strategy page again. If you have any issues with that – please send a message with details to the Discord of Emergence DAO.

2. From the buy and sell overlay you have presented the option to input how many BTC Smart Hold tokens you would like to purchase, the amount of ETH (or any other coin such as USDT, USDC, DAI, and WBTC) required to facilitate the transaction, your current ETH balance associated with the wallet you have connected to TokenSets and finally, a button to preview the transaction for your approval.

There are two options for buying on TokenSets: TokenSets Issuance & Direct Swap orders. TokenSet Issuances is the operation of using your single payment token in the transaction (e.g. USDT, WBTC, ETH, USDC, DAI), exchanging it for all the required tokens through decentralized exchanges, and then issuing the Emergence Bitcoin strategy token. Direct Swap orders are only available when there is decentralized exchange liquidity for the Emergence Bitcoin strategy tokens on, for example, Uniswap or Sushi. Choosing this option allows you to swap your single asset for pre-issued Emergence Bitcoin strategy tokens that already exist.

Please note that this option won’t be available during the first phase of Emergence DAO!

3. Click the Buy button which will then, depending on the wallet provider you are using, ask you to confirm your transaction as seen below. (Please note: if you've chosen USDT, USDC, DAI, or WBTC, then TokenSets would require two transactions - the first is to approve spending of a chosen token, and the second one is to actually buy the BTCEM.) This is the final step of the purchasing process and will now exchange your ETH (or other crypto chosen by you) for the quoted amount of BTCEM (Emergence Bitcoin strategy tokens), all verifiable on-chain.
